About Rehab RoundUp

Stay Evidence Based, Made Easy

Every clinician deserves the tools, time, and community support to bring the latest research to life in their practice. At Rehab RoundUp, neurorehabilitation evidence is made accessible, practical, and empowering. The platform removes barriers to knowledge translation by saving time, simplifying critical appraisal, and guiding research application — enabling clinicians to deliver truly evidence-based care that leads to meaningful outcomes for their patients.

Bridging the Knowledge Translation Gap

The field of neurorehabilitation is advancing rapidly, with new research constantly emerging. Yet, despite this wealth of evidence, integrating findings into daily clinical practice remains a persistent challenge. This phenomenon is often referred to as the knowledge translation gap. Studies show that even high-quality, clinically relevant research can take years, sometimes over a decade, to be widely adopted in practice. In neurorehabilitation, this gap is compounded by the complexity and variability of patient presentations, limited time for clinicians to sift through vast amounts of literature, and the technical nature of research articles, which can make interpreting and applying findings daunting.

Rehab RoundUp addresses these barriers head-on. The platform will provide curated resources, guided critical appraisals, and structured knowledge translation activities to save clinicians time, simplify the process of evaluating research, and provide practical steps to implement findings in patient care. In doing so, the program aims to close the gap between research and real-world rehabilitation — ensuring patients benefit from the latest, most effective interventions.

Meet the Founder

Hi, I'm Liz!

My love for research started back in graduate school. While they might be technical and not exactly page-turners, I'm a big fan of reading research papers. I love the structure, the clarity, and the little sparks of discovery tucked inside each paper about a field I have come to love: neurorehabilitation.

When I started my first "adult" job, I assumed everyone shared my enthusiasm for digging into research. It didn’t take long to realize that wasn’t the case — not because people didn’t want to, but because real-world barriers got in the way. Between full caseloads, paywalls, and the challenge of figuring out how to actually apply new findings, staying up to date felt nearly impossible.

That’s where the idea for Rehab RoundUp was born — a way to make research more accessible, approachable, and actionable. I wanted to build something that helps clinicians bridge the gap between the evidence and the everyday — turning all that great science into meaningful change in the clinic.

A little background about me: I’m a physical therapist with extensive experience in inpatient neurorehabilitation, working with individuals recovering from stroke, brain injury, and other neurological conditions. I’ve had the privilege of mentoring students and new grads, serving as a wheelchair specialist, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement evidence-based stroke programs. I also hold advanced certifications as a Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist, in High-Intensity Gait Training, Clinical Trials Operations, and EKSO Bionics.

At the heart of it all, I’m just deeply passionate about helping clinicians stay connected to the science that shapes our field — and making that process a little easier, a little faster, and a lot more meaningful.

And when I’m not elbows-deep in PubMed filters, you’ll probably find me outside hiking, kayaking, playing pickleball, or walking my dog.
